Daniel Choi, MD, FACS, is a board-certified ophthalmologist at Cataract and Vision Center of Hawaii. A cornea and refractive surgeon, Dr. Choi was the first in Hawaii to perform limbal corneal transplants and treat ocular surface tumors with novel topical eye drops.
Known for his clinical knowledge and leadership skills, Dr. Choi quickly rose to a managing partner role at one of Hawaii's longest running and most successful practices. He also owns and operates a successful ambulatory surgery center. Dr. Choi’s passion for problem solving stems from years of global development service where he developed his expertise in finding sustainable solutions to complex problems. Whether resolving a patient’s surgical needs, managing strategy and logistics in international medical mission work, or improving the efficiencies of his businesses, Dr. Choi uses evidenced based approaches to achieve optimal outcomes.
Dr. Choi is a member of several professional societies and committees, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Academy of Ophthalmic Executives, and American Society of Corneal and Refractive Surgeons.
Dr. Choi is a dedicated and caring physician. His highest priority is to provide the best possible outcome for each patient. He has volunteered his services on medical mission trips in Uganda, Myanmar, and Mexico.
Outside of work, Dr. Choi loves cooking, hiking, and traveling with his wife and spending time with his two young children.
